WISC travel support grants

We are pleased to inform you that the WISC has a limited sum available and earmarked for financial support of participants for the 2nd Global International Studies Conference, to be held on 23-26 July 2008 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. This support is intended as a ‘top up’ fund mainly for participants from institutions in non-OECD countries. It is unlikely that full funding will be available for any applicant. You are encouraged to seek financial support also from other sources of funding such as national professional associations, foundations, or home institutions. A statement (an official proof) about funding already secured may be considered as an advantage in the process of considering applications.

In principle, it is expected that the applicant will be presenting a paper at the conference. For paper submissions, please go to http://www.wiscnetwork.org/submission.php. Applications of participants, whose paper proposals will not be accepted by the Programme Chair, will not be considered for the allocation of a grant.

Please note: Participants are responsible for the totality of their expenses. The WISC accepts no responsibility in this regard.

If you wish to apply for financial support from the WISC, please fill out the application form, and send it to Professor AJR Groom on wisc@kent.ac.uk. Financial details must be given in Euro.

The deadline for submitting applications is 31 March 2008. Successful applicants will be informed about the amount of the grant they have been offered on 15 May 2008. We regret that those applicants who will not have heard from us by that date have not been successful.

Sincerely,
The WISC Team
